Introducing Novecom

Novecom is an information and communications technology (ICT) company specialising in systems integration and software development. Novecom offers a range of innovative technology and business solutions to the mining, industrial, defence and environmental industries. Our extremely talented technical people are systems integrators and programmers who know how to make the most of new technologies - with a focus on addressing real business issues.

Novecom is associated with leading engineering consulting firm Advitech. Advitech is a highly respected, Newcastle-based company, which has operated for the past 20 years. Advitech provides engineering, environmental, risk management and project management services to industrial, government, defence and commercial clients.

Novecom and Advitech worked together to produce Novecom’s range of business solutions - combining Advitech’s understanding of the issues facing its clients with Novecom’s technical know how.

Sentinex® Platform

Our knowledge of environmental monitoring led to the development of the SentineX Remote Data Acquisition and Reporting Platform. SentineX was developed in conjunction with Hunter Valley mine operators to address their industry’s need for real-time, continuous monitoring of environmental conditions. The SentineX product line currently includes Noise, Dust, Odour and Meteorological monitoring solutions. SentineX is proving itself an extremely useful data and community management tool across many industry sectors, particularly operations that interface directly with the community.

SentineX® Repository

The SentineX platform is supported by an online software tool which provides access to real-time monitoring data, and audio files (from noise units) via the web. The SentineX Repository provides SentineX users with access to information 24/7 for pro-active management of their operations – allowing them to schedule activites so they cause least disturbance on neighbouring communities. The information is immediately available wherever you have internet access – assisting users with community complaint management and decision making for their operations.

Criteria® Risk Management Software

Criteria® is a simple, efficient and affordable solution to your risk management needs. It allows you to consolidate your organisation's risk data in one central location, in a consistent format. Criteria was developed around a 'keep it simple' philosophy. It offers an integrated risk management framework, built around an intuitive, user-friendly web interface. Its adaptability supports the management of all risk contexts, at any level of your organisation. Other features include a risk mitigation action tracking system, risk profiling and in-built reporting.

Upcoming Minerals Council Conference

The NSW Minerals Council Environment and Community Conference will be held at York Fairmont, Leura from the 16-18 November 2008.

Finalists in recent Hunter Manufacturing Awards

Novecom was recently named as a finalist in the 2008 Hunter Manufacturing Awards.

We entered in three award categories - Excellence in Environmental Practice, Excellence in Technology and the HMA Board Award.

As a finalist in the Excellence in Environment Practice award, Novecom’s SentineX® system was recognised as an innovation that has contributed to towards reducing the impact of manufacturing operations on the environment.

Advances in SentineX Capabilities

Novecom will shortly release Version 2.0 of its SentineX software platform. This version is a quantum leap from the first version of the software. New capabilities include:

  • Integration of multiple monitoring modules into a single SentineX unit – For example, you can now have multiple noise monitors in the field, connected to one central SentineX unit. The central unit will support communication for all connected monitors - saving on the expense of installing multiple full SentineX units in the field.
  • Live audio streaming via the web from SentineX continuous noise monitoring systems – You can now can listen remotely to the noise environment around your operation as it happens.
  • A significant increase in configuration options for each SentineX unit - For example, users may wish to select which parameters are included on their daily monitoring charts.

Version 1.0 software will continue to be supported in its current state on all existing installations.

Reseller Agreement – Environmental Systems and Services (ES&S)

Novecom recently entered into a reseller agreement with Environmental Systems and Services (ES&S).

ES&S specialises in environmental solutions such as meteorology, hydrology, seismology, oceanography, air quality, tide and water level measurement and geotechnical engineering. Over 20 years, ES&S has grown to be the leading supplier of Australian designed and manufactured satellite earth stations for meteorological and environmental remote sensing.

Novecom are now able to assist you with solutions to your measurement and monitoring needs, in areas such as flow measurement, level measurement, ground vibration, meteorology, tide gauges and leak detection.

And as your local agent, Novecom has National and International support through ES&S’s worldwide distribution network.
